Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree 2006

Cititour gives the thumbs up to this year's tree at Rockefeller Center. The 88 foot, 9-ton Norway spruce was set aglow with some 30-thousand lights. It's seems to be much fuller than last year's tree and perfect for some holiday cheer, if you can bear with the throngs of tourist!

The Prospect Park Zoo is welcoming Arthur and Guinevere, a regal pair of American kestrels. Their new home is truly fit for royalty… at least of the falcon variety. Arthur and Guinevere's "Camelot" is a brand new floor to ceiling windowed exhibit located in the Zoo's Discovery Center. Over 2800 square feet, this beautiful wooded habitat is viewed from inside the building but set outside amidst local trees and wildlife allowing the kestrels to safely interact with local birds. The Zoo provides binoculars and birding guides at the exhibit so curious birdwatchers can study Arthur, Guinevere, and the other local natives flying nearby.

Adam and Eve

It's hard to walk by the statues of Adam and Eve in the Time Warner building without stopping in your tracks. Maybe it's the sheer size of them (and girth). They are the work of Fernando Botero who says
"rotundity in art is linked to pleasure". Then New York City must be the pleasure capitol!
