About Rent
The late Jonathan Larson's rock-opera update of La Boheme into the East Village of the 1990s has spoken to a younger generation of theatergoers like no other musical before or since. The score, a mixture of pop and Broadway, is extraordinarily accomplished, and the characters--from drug-addicted Mimi to doomed drag queen Angel to feisty lesbian Maureen--are truly unforgettable.
