Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is internationally recognized as the official start of the holiday season, and world-famous as a uniquely American entertainment extravaganza. Each year, Macy's is proud to present a line-up featuring spectacular floats, giant helium balloons, the very best in high school and college marching bands, specialty youth performance groups, and top-name stars from the television, film and recording industries. - Macy's

The Parade Route:
Starts at 77th Street and Central West to Columbus Circle, turns onto Broadway where it will culminate
at 34th Street at Macy’s Herald Square. The parade finishes at 7th Avenue. For map of parade route href="http://www1.macys.com/campaign/parade/info.jsp?dst=info">click here.
Pre-Parade Festivities:
You can view the balloons being inflated Thanksgiving Eve between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue on 77th and 81st Streets. (Inflating begins at 3pm)
Viewing Locations:
- The West Side of Columbus Circle.
- Broadway between 58th and 38th Streets.
- The South Side of 34th St between Broadway and 7th Ave.
- Broadway from 34th to 38th St. will be closed to the public.
Ground Rules:
- No folding chairs. You won’t be allowed to use them.
- Don’t bring any oversized bags. All bags subject to search by NYC Police Dept.
- Dress in layers.
Getting a Good Spot:
The best advice is to get there early. Fans start lining prime viewing locations as early as 6:30am.
