Meet CHRIS VAN ALLSBURG, two-time Caldecott Medal-winning author/artist of The Polar Express and Jumanji, as he presents his new book, Probuditi! In this stunningly illustrated tale, Calvin and his friend Rodney go to see the magician Lomax the Magnificent. Amazed by Lomax’s hypnotism tricks, Calvin and Rodney imitate their new hero and hypnotize Calvin’s little sister, Trudy, into thinking she’s a dog. The great thing is that it worked – the bad thing is that they can't remember the magic word to break the spell. Desperate to fix Trudy before Mama comes home, they take Trudy to the one man they know can solve their problem. But will Lomax the Magnificent agree to help? Mr. Van Allsburg will discuss his work, answer questions, and sign copies of his new book and all his past works. Noon – 2 pm.
