A lovely byproduct of writing about locally, lovingly made creations for Cititour is that I have begun to try my own hand at creating some. Under the label Reclamation Arts, I've started making "things from other things"—every component of every item vintage or repurposed, no materials bought new. At the Greenpointer Holiday Market (Saturday, December 17), I'll be offering journals made from used-but-unblemished paper, jewelry from vintage charms and reclaimed ribbons, tree ornaments from refurbished nicknacks, and the like. It's cute, it's affordable, and it's intensely environmental! Please join me and my fellow Greenpointers as we prepare for the holidays in style. See you soon!
