The program will include Ferrandini's Marian cantata, "Il Pianto di Maria", long misattributed to Handel, and the recently discovered Pergolesi work, "La Maddalena al Sepolcro", which comes to us from the Biblioteca del Sacro Convento di Assisi. The ten-movement Lenten duet, "Canto Divoti Affetti" by Giovanni Alberto Ristori, was discovered by Timothy Burris in 1995 in Dresden, having miraculously survived the Allied bombing which destroyed so many other musical treasures.
