October’s NextNext Music festival showcases the next generation ofmusicians who, in the spirit of the Next Wave Festival, are paving radical and new musical paths.
Experimental ensemble Zs is a compact quartet of keyboard, tenor saxophone, electric guitar and drumset. The sound that results is an amalgam of progressive sounds andrhythmic pitter-patter. Zs conclude the NextNext music series with a brand of avant-rock that explores layers of sonic complexity and repetition. As much a jazz ensemble as aprog rock band, Zs fuse their instruments together in concert flawlessly.
