October’s NextNext Music festival showcases the next generation of musicians who, in the spirit of the Next Wave Festival, are paving radical and new musical paths.
Multi-media collective Slow Six has delivered its brand of electronic chamber musicsince 1998. Born of that natural space between classical and popular music, they mix theinstrumental prowess and compositional focus of classical music with real-time digitalprocessing and lush visual landscapes. Transforming the computer from its role as aplayback device and sound effect generator into a full-fledged member of the ensemble,the group re-contextualizes “computer music” as a live, performance experience.
