Meet internationally acclaimed Russian artist GENNADY SPIRIN, illustrator of such exquisite books as The Crane Wife, The Tale of the Firebird, Martha, and A Apple Pie. Mr. Spirin is the recipient of five gold medals from the Society of Illustrators in New York City, the Golden Apple from the Bratislava International Biennal, and first prize at both the Bologna and Barcelona International Book Fairs, and his work has appeared four separate times on the annual New York Times Ten Best Illustrated Books of the Year List. We are honored to welcome him to Books of Wonder as we celebrate the release of his newest book, a gorgeously illustrated version of Clement C. Moore’s classic poem The Night Before Christmas at a special publication party. Mr. Spirin will be on hand to answer questions and sign copies of his new book and all his past works. Light refreshments will be served, courtesy of the publisher. 5 – 7pm.
