Cuisine: Beer Halls/Gardens , German

Summary:
Located about a block and a half away from Grand Central, this German beer hall offers a full service bar with 24 taps and six varieties of Hofbräu beer; including a premium lager dating back to 1589. There's also a Hefe Weisen wheat beer, and a reddish bock beer, a favorite in Munich.

You'll also find traditional German food. Start with some soft pretzels with your choice of mustard, sweet or hot, and potato pancakes with apple horseradish sauce. You'll also find sauerkraut balls stuffed with ham, and hearty soups and salads. Entrees include German sausages grilled, broiled or roasted, and three types of schnitzels. And what would dessert be with a traditional black forest cake, Bavarian cream and homemade apple strudel with walnuts and cinnamon.

Bierhaus, with it's sharing tables, is also great spot for large groups looking to share a few brews. - Thomas Rafael
