Watch out Gray's Papaya there's a new dog in town. Japadog, a Vancouver import, has landed on St Marks Place and the quirky shop, serving Japanese-style hot dogs, fits right in.

There are about a dozen different hot dogs on the menu, including the Terimayo, a plump grilled beef hot dog, but instead of sauerkraut this dog is topped seaweed and misomayo. Then there is the Japanese equivalent to a chili dog where a torch is used to melt the cheese. You'll also find hot dogs and sausages topped with grated daikon, fried potato croquette and shredded cabbage.

Ice cream is also being served on a hot bun in flavors like mango, strawberry and black sesame. - Thomas Rafael
