Pat LaFrieda is a world renowned butcher, and now a restaurateur, opening his first brick-and-mortar location at The Pennsy food court. The shop is selling pre-packaged meats along with made-to-order sandwiches.
If the Black Angus Steak Sandwich is any indication, expect perfection. What a treat. Steak too good to turn up, seared to medium rare. It's topped with caramelized onions and Monterey Jack cheese served on a crispy ciabatta roll.
Other sandwiches include roast turkey with goat cheese and cranberry jelly; Grandpa's Meatball sandwich and a smoked country ham pressed sandwich with smoked gouda cheese, truffle spread and dijonnaise. Sandwiches range in price from $12 to $15 dollars.
This is one spot worth seeking out and not just if you're catching a train at Penn Station or watching a game at the Garden.
