Cititour Review:
If you’re in the neighborhood and you haven’t checked out Tacombi over at the Chelsea Market try to make a point of getting over there soon.  They have another location on Elizabeth Street which I hear has made a name for itself as serving up some of the best tacos in the city, but this outpost doesn’t disappointment either.

Tacombi’s serves soft tacos only, a choice of three different fillings, and the selections rotate daily.  On the day I visited, I was tempted with a chicken salsa verde taco, a pork al pastor taco with an onion and garlic sauce and three kinds of Mexican peppers, or a sweet corn and poblano taco.  I was hungry, so at $12 for three, I went for it and tried them all!  The ingredients were fresh and delicious.  For an additional $3 I could have included freshly brewed hibiscus tea to wash it all down, but I had bottled water with me and passed on the beverage this time.

Tacombi’s is a great place if you want a quick lunch and need to get back to the office or if you’re visiting the market and feel like Mexican.  Be careful not to miss it though.  It’s just a small taco cart pushed back behind some other shops and restaurants, so you may want to ask someone when you get there.  If you find it, enjoy!  It’s worth the stop.
