Broadway Goes Dark Amid COVID-19 Fears
March 12, 2020, 11:40.07 pm ET
New York Governor Mario Cuomo orders all Broadway shows closed amid coronavirus fears causing a major hardship for the Theater District economy. Signs on various Broadway theaters, many run by The Shubert Organization, inform theatergoers on how purchases will be refunded. Some made by credit card will be automatic. For cash purchases, tickets should be returned to the box office. There are also instructions on how to re-book via telecharge when the theaters reopen on April 12th. Here are some scenes from the Theater District shortly after the announcement was made.
