Antidote, a restaurant in Williamsburg that serves sophisticated and authentic Chinese cuisine in a skylight-lit and plant-filled atmosphere, is offering live jazz music this summer every Wednesday from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm, featuring local jazz artists and up-and-coming musicians.
Antidote is a restaurant and bar offering food inspired by Sichuan, Shanghai, and different parts of Asia. Antidote was founded by a team of experienced restaurateurs with a passion for food and a strong work ethic. The restaurant's interior design is calm and inviting, while its friendly staff creates a comfortable dining environment for all.
Antidote's food menu takes inspiration from Sichuan and Shanghai cuisine, with a focus on cold appetizers, dim sum, entrees, vegetarian dishes, noodles, and rice. The restaurant's head chef, who has over 25 years of experience cooking Sichuan and Shanghainese food, adds his own twist to traditional dishes, resulting in a unique and exciting dining experience.
Some of Antidote's signature dishes include Dongpo Pork, Dan Dan Noodles, Fish with Spicy Bean Paste, Fish Blossom, Spicy Cumin Lamb, Cucumber Salad, Tea Smoked Duck, Crab Tofu, and Wonton in Chili Sauce. Dongpo pork, for example, is a traditional pork belly dish that is braised for eight hours, resulting in a melt-in-your-mouth texture and a rich, savory flavor.
"We're excited to bring our passion for food to the Brooklyn community," says Jane Rotari, co-founder of Antidote. "At Antidote, everyone is treated as equal, and we are like a large family. We hope to create a comfortable and inviting atmosphere for our customers to enjoy delicious food and great company." In the future, the restaurant plans to collaborate with plant stores around New York City and offer pop-up shops to its customers.
