THE HIGH LINE LIFE

What could be better than a summer evening on the High Line? How about seeing the “La Deliciosa Show,” which is being presented as part of “Mutations”, a group exhibition that explores the relationship between man and nature, looking at how the boundaries between the natural world and culture are defined, crossed, and obliterated. This week’s guest band Los Vigilantes are a punk/garage band from San Juan, Puerto Rico that has toured internationally for the past seven years, which fuses surf-punk, rockabilly, and garage-rock, the quartet is known for its memorable live shows. Diva lovers alert: Ghostlight Records will celebrate the Original Broadway Cast Recording of the new musical “War Paint.” starring two-time Tony Award winners Patti LuPone and Christine Ebersole. with a special in-store event at the Upper East Side Barnes & Noble. Looking for family fun this weekend? Well, July 15 is City of Water Day in New York, which means a host of great activities for aquaphiles of all ages. The main Activity Fair takes place on Governor’s Island, where there will also be kayak races, boat tours aboard the Schooner Pioneer, food from top-notch local vendors and more.

A different kind of street fair, the Carnaval de la Cultura Latina offers rt, music, dance, and great food from Latino cultures, as well as a day of fun for the whole family. Children's entertainment will include inflatables rides, face painting, games, and lots of giveaways.
