GOOD FOR A LAUGH

Let’s face it: we could all use a good laugh these days. So head over to Manhattan’s most famous comedy club, Caroline’s on Broadway, where Emmy Award winner Kyle Dunnigan – a writer and performer on the hit TV show “Inside Amy Schumer” -- will have you howling in your seats. Your evening won’t be a Trainweck, it will be a Yuckfest!

(Thursday, May 11-Sunday, May 14. Visit www.carolines.com)

SAY BREW

Do you know the difference between pale ale and weissbier? Then you’re going to love the 4th Annual Five Boro Craft Beer Festival at Brooklyn’s The Well. You can taste delicious drinks from over 100 local and national breweries, sample the cuisine from local restaurants, and hear music from the bands Mokra and Rusty Cannons. Skoal!

PRINCIPALLY ENTERTAINING

While his lip-synching skills are second to none, John Epperson is more than a spectacular drag performer. He is a man (yes, a man) of many talents. In “John Epperson: The Artist Principally Known as Lypsinka,” this singular entertainer will treat audiences to a jam-packed musical memoir as he sings, tickles the piano keys, and ricochets from Sondheim to rap, and from transgender icon Christine Jorgenson to Rodgers and Hammerstein. Read my lips – go!

NOBODY DOES IT BETTER

One of the most extraordinary singers in the world, 10-time Grammy Award winner Chaka Khan knows how to put on a show. At her concert at the Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts, she’ll prove that as she perform many of her greatest hits, including “I’m Every Woman,” “I Feel For You,” and “Ain’t Nobody.” Believe me, there ain’t nobody out there like Chaka Khan!

(Saturday, May 13. 7:30pm. Visit www.brooklyncenter.org)

DO THE WAVE (HILL)

Here’s a really special way for young ones to celebrate Mother’s Day -- by creating a wrapped-fabric frame and adorning it with dried flowers and ribbons or making a small, fragrant sachet gift tied with ribbons and bows and filled with dried lavender. This can all happen as part of a special Family Art Project, one of many special events taking place at Bronx’s gorgeous Wave Hill on Mother’s Day. This beautiful venue is also hosting a special brunch, offering beautiful jewelry in the shop, and having a yoga session in the garden.

(Sunday, May 14. 10am-1pm. Visit www.wavehill.org)
