ORDER A GRANDE

At age 15, Ariana Grande was making her Broadway debut in the musical “13.” The next year, she was one of TV’s hottest young stars as Cat in Nickelodeon’s “Victorious.” Now, at 23, she’s one of pop music’s most celebrated and influential recording artists: a singer of copious power who is sure to tear off the roof of Madison Square Garden! Trust us, this “dangerous woman” will give her fans exactly what they came for! (Thursday, February 23 and Friday, February 24, 7:30pm. Visit ticketmaster.com for details.)

FAIR PLAY

Some stories resound for generations. Take Phil Strong’s 1932 novel “State Fair,” about an Iowa family that finds adventure, love, and heartbreak when they spend a week at the state fair. The book has spawned three films, a television pilot, and a Broadway musical. This week, the original Oscar-nominated 1933 movie version, starring big-screen legend Janet Gaynor and the one-and-only Will Rogers, gets a rare public airing at the Museum of Modern Art. (Friday, February 24, 1:30pm. Visit www.moma.org for details.)

TAKING A BREAK

Is your child the next Calder, Picasso or Warhol? Well, here’s one way to find out. Children ages 5 to 12 and their adult companions are invited to participate in the Midwinter Break Family Workshop at the Queens Museum. There will be a variety of fun hands-on art making activities in the museum’s Unisphere Gallery. And while you’re there, you can also check out the world-famous Panorama of the City of New York, which was created for the 1964 World’s Fair. (Friday, February 24, 1:30pm-4:30pm. Visit queensmuseum.org for details.)

THE GREATEST LOVE OF ALL

For fans of the late, great Whitney Houston, it can be hard to imagine it’s been five years since her untimely death. For them, here’s a chance to celebrate their greatest love of all: “I Will Always Love You,” at the Highline Ballroom. This very special performance of her greatest hits stars two powerhouse New York City vocalists, Alice Tan Ridley (a semi-finalist on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent”) and Ayanna Irish, both of whom we know Whitney would love! (Saturday, February 25, 8pm. Visit www.highlineballroom.com for details)

AND THE WINNER IS…

Let’s be honest: any awards show is more fun when you’ve got people around you to cheer, boo, and make catty comments. And that’s especially true of the Academy Awards. At Brooklyn Winery’s annual Oscars Night viewing party, you’ll be surrounded by fellow film lovers and fashionistas – and you’ll also enjoy the restaurant’s acclaimed wine, craft beer, and small plates from the menu. The red-carpet arrivals will be televised, followed by the 89th Academy Awards, hosted by ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel. Space is very limited so be sure to be there when the doors open! (Sunday, February 26, 6pm. Visit bkwinery.com for details.)
