New York City brunch just got a lot hotter. aRoqa is is enlisting the help of Chef David Santos, formerly of Bouley and Per Se, to create the city's most spiced up brunch this weekend on November 12th. It includes Snap Dragon French Toast made with with Runner and Stone Challah, jaggery (a dark unrefined sugar) and egg, topped with saffron caramel cream, pear and rum raisins that are flambéed tableside. Other dishes include Scrabled Egg Bruschetta topped with a hot Madras curry onion marmilade and Habanero Cheese Toast with amul cheese and habanero ketchup.
For the launch, during the first two Sunday Brunches on Nov. 12 + 19, aRoqa will offer brunch cocktails for just $5, including a spicy Degi Mirch Bloody Mary (degi mirch is ground chili pepper popular in India). Brunch will be served Sundays only 11:30am – 3pm.
