There’s no better time to eat pasta in New York than right now! With so many delicious pasta-bilities and National Pasta Day coming on Thursday, October 17.

Modern Italian restaurant The Longshoreman is showcasing creative housemade pastas that riff on classics from Chef/Owner Michelle Ewan and Executive Chef Kevin Noccioli (formerly of Craft and Masa). Sweet Potato Gnocchi are all about the Fall with brussels sprouts pesto, spicy candied hazelnuts and kale. Roman classic Tagliatelle Cacio e Pepe gets a sea urchin twist, while Pappardelle offer a play on Bolognese sauce, here made with a mix of sausages and shiitake mushrooms. Black Spaghetti made with squid ink is a canvas for a rich shrimp ragu brightened with grated bottarga (cured fish roe) and fresh herbs and Pici Carbonara keeps it traditional with long, thick cut pasta with house cured and smoked bacon, egg yolk and parmesan.

The Longshoreman is located at 215 Columbia Street, Brooklyn
