The New York Hall of Science (NYSCI) will officially open a new holiday skating rink SATURDAY, DECEMBER 10. The rink, which will be built out of a non-ice, eco-friendly polymer-based material, will allow children and families to skate in a warm, indoor climate-controlled environment.
Entry to the rink costs $10 and comes in addition to the cost of museum entry (entry into the museum costs $16 for adults and $13 for children). Museum members will receive a 20 percent discount.
The rink will be open from 10AM to 5PM Wednesday through Sunday, through March 5. It will also be during schools-out holidays, Monday through Friday, December 26-31, January 16 (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day), and February 20-24.
The new rink is another family-friendly offering by NYSCI - from new exhibits like Powering the City and Small Discoveries to inspiring art by sculptural painter Kyung Youl Yoon. The museum reopened in October after nearly a year after Hurricane Ida significantly damaged portions of the museum.
