Legendary stage and screen lyricist and composer Stephen Schwartz comes to the 92nd Street Y for an in-depth, in-person conversation with Spectrum News NY1 entertainment journalist Frank DiLella about the Broadway megahit “Wicked” on Monday, October 18 at 7:30 pm.
The event will also feature special live performances by Broadway stars Michael McCorry Rose and Ciara Renée, while Schwartz will sing the show’s popular ballad “For Good.”
Based on the book by Gregory Maguire, “Wicked” tells the backstory of Oz’s two most famous witches, Elphaba (aka the Wicked Witch of the West) and Glinda, during the time they first met in college. The show will soon celebrate its 18th anniversary on Broadway at the Gershwin Theatre, and a film version to be directed by Jon M. Chu (“In the Heights”) is in the works.
