On Thursday, June 26, Chef Tyler Akin of Bastia—fresh off accolades from Esquire and Philadelphia Magazine—brings his sun-soaked Corsican and Sardinian flavors to Platform by JBF for one night only. The special dinner celebrates Bastia’s standout menu with a tightly curated lineup of seasonal seafood, handmade pastas, and island-inspired pairings designed to transport guests straight to the Mediterranean.

The evening begins with a Bastia Spritz—an herbaceous blend of Cocchi Americano, bay leaf, olive, Prosecco, and Perrier—followed by hors d’oeuvres like swordfish brochette with walnut pesto and Calabrian chili labneh, and a delicate strawberry bite with hazelnut, lonzu, and Tomme. Akin’s signature storzapretti dumplings make a bold appearance, served with guanciale, arrabbiata, and Fiore Sardo—a dish recently dubbed one of the best bites of the year by an Esquire editor.

The menu continues with marlin crudo dressed in sundried gooseberries and bottarga, sea urchin butter tartine with ricotta-stuffed squash blossom, and malloreddus tossed with bluefin tuna belly and nettle pesto. A lamb roulade with Le Puy lentils and spring onion soubise rounds out the savory courses, all paired with regional wines from Corsica and Sardinia. For dessert, a tiramisù al mirto laced with pistachio and Luxardo cherry gives the evening a sweet, aromatic finish.

It’s a rare chance to taste Bastia’s coastal soul in NYC—and to celebrate one of the country’s most talked-about new restaurants, dish by dish. Ticket information here
