Alan Cumming will play the title role in Neil LaBute’s world premiere adaptation of Anton Chekov’s “
Uncle Vanya,” which will be presented as part of the “Broadway’s Best Shows’ Spotlight on Plays” series on Thursday, November 19 at 8pm. The stream will be available until Monday, November 23.
Directed by Danya Taymor, the production also stars Academy Award winner Ellen Burstyn as “Maria,” Manik Choksi as “Waffles,” K. Todd Freeman as “Serebryakov,” Mia Katigbak as “Marina,” Anson Mount as “Astrov,” Samira Wiley as “Sonya” and Constance Wu as “Yelena.” Tony Award winner Gabriel Ebert is the Narrator.
Cumming won the Tony for his performance in “Cabaret.” His other Broadway credits include “Macbeth,” “Design for Living” and “The Threepenny Opera.” His film and television credits include “The Good Wife,” “Instinct” and “X-Men 2.”
