The team behind Clinton Hill favorite Aita has debuted Osteria Radisa, a contemporary Italian osteria tucked into the heart of Carroll Gardens. Inspired by the culinary traditions of Emilia-Romagna, the restaurant is a tribute to co-founder Giulia Pellicioni’s roots in Rimini, and a deeply personal expression from Chef Roberto Aita, whose resume includes San Domenico and Coco Pazzo.
Radisa’s menu dives into both iconic and long-forgotten dishes of Romagna, reimagined through the lens of New York’s seasonal bounty. Among the signatures: a Piadina with whipped lardo and prosciutto di Parma; Spoia Lorda with pesto, asparagus, and briny Adriatic clams; and Ravioli Verdi di Ricotta finished with ramp and pecorino di fossa.
Heartier plates include Tagliatelle al Ragù with sweet spring peas and "diritto di sugo"—a tradition where the sauce is served separately as a reward for the cook. There's also whole branzino in green olive guazzetto and Razza alla Mugnaia with lemon, capers, and butter.
The Cocktail program—crafted by partner and beverage director Althea Codamon—is rooted in Italian technique, but takes bold cues from her Filipino and Mexican heritage. The wine list leans low-intervention and European, with a strong showing from Italian producers committed to ethical winemaking.
Inside, Radisa’s earth-toned space is filled with reclaimed wood, antique furnishings from Emilia-Romagna, and a striking terracotta-toned cabinet made from reclaimed materials. The osteria currently seats about 40 and offers dinner service nightly—with walk-ins welcome and reservations via Resy.
