Appropriate, Sarah Paulon Win 2024 Drama League Awards

The Drama League announced the winners of the 2024 Drama League Award at an in-person ceremony on Friday, May 17 at The Ziegfeld Ballroom.

Sarah Paulson won the Distinguished Performance Award, the League’s highest honor, for her work in “Appropriate” In addition, “Stereophonic” was named Outstanding Production of a Play, while “Appropriate” won for Outstanding Revival of a Play. Meanwhile, “Hell’s Kitchen” and “Merrily We Roll Along” earned honors for Outstanding Production of a Musical and Outstanding Revival of a Musical, respectively.

In the directing categories, Daniel Aukin received the Outstanding Direction of a Play award for “Stereophonic” and Maria Friedman received the Outstanding Direction of a Musical award for “Merrily We Roll Along.”

The Gratitude Award was given to Kandi Burress; The Founders Award for Excellence in Directing was awarded to Schele Williams; The Distinguished Achievement in Musical Theater Award was presented to Jonathan Groff; the Contribution to Theatre Award was given to Jessica Lange.
