The New Museum’s transformative expansion, designed by OMA/Shohei Shigematsu and Rem Koolhaas, will open in fall 2025, doubling gallery space and enhancing the visitor experience. The new building, named for the late philanthropist Toby Devan Lewis, will create new venues for artist residencies, public programs, and NEW INC, the first museum-born cultural incubator. It also solidifies the museum’s role as a global hub for contemporary art and innovation.
