Three Michelin-starred Chef Dominique Crenn (of Atelier Crenn in San Francisco) will be coming to New York City to host a dinner at NYY Steak on October 7 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. in support of the American Cancer Society (ACS). Chef Crenn is a breast cancer survivor and will be working in collaboration with Executive Chef Oscar Gonzalez of NYY Steak to serve a five-course dinner with wine pairings. New York- based Hungry House is launching TikTok-famous dishes from Baked by Melissa’s Melissa Ben-Ishay and Bowery Farming, the largest vertical farming company in the U.S. The three new bowls include Ben Ishay’s scoop-friendly Green Goddess Salad (seen 22M times on Tik Tok) made with Bowery basil. Sesame Street: The Musical announcing special sensory-friendly performances which will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 11 AM and November 16 at 11 AM. These special performances will offer accommodations including lowered audio, house lighting at 50%, a “no shushing allowed” policy, fidgets toys provided, and designated relaxation spaces during the performance. Sesame Street: The Musical is currently playing off-Broadway at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street), and is presented by Rockefeller Productions. Tickets here

The new Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center opens October 8, two years ahead of schedule and on budget. Opening month celebrations include World Premiere performances of San Juan Hill: A New York Story by composer Etienne Charles performed by Etienne Charles and Creole Soul. Choose-What-You-Pay tickets for San Juan Hill: A New York Story are now on sale. In addition, a limited number of free tickets will be available on October 8 at the Welcome Center at David Geffen Hall, opening at 10am. Two celebratory galas held on October 26 and October 28, and culminating with a free open house weekend on October 29 and 30 featuring hundreds of artists animating the entire hall with performances, participatory activities and family events.

The United Solo Fest is around the corner. Holding Court from comedian and actress Courtney Scheuerman (Last Call with Carson Daly, Gotham Comedy Live) is based on true events. The hilariously poignant solo show explores one woman's path to discovering what it means to be the hero of your own story. Holding Court runs on October 6th in the Studio Theatre at Theatre Row, curtain is at 7pm.

Also at United Solo Fest is a one woman show called Sabra – Mother and Daughter Facing a New Land. The show centers on wave of immigration from the USSR to Israel during the 70’s, from the perspective of Zhenia – a newcomer and a mother, exposing the complex and volatile relationship between a mother and daughter both played by actress Netta Yashchin.
