On Sunday, April 16, Chef Jared Howard of Honey Bunny's Chicken is taking over FIELDTRIP Harlem (109 Malcom X Blvd) serving up his signature Chesapeake Bay style fried chicken. The Maryland inspired menu includes the Chicken n' Biscuits Meal ($20) with 3 pieces of fried chicken made to order (wing, drum & thigh), biscuit, amish coleslaw and mac n' cheese. Sides include home-style crab chips, 7-10 PM.

Flipper’s is back! Flipper’s Roller Boogie Palace returns to Rockefeller Center for a second season. Created in 1979 in Los Angeles as part of a disco dreamland, the roller rink returns April 14th through mid-October between 49th and 50th Street (replacing the ice rink).

Dangle from the fire escape of a four-story New York City storefront… sort of. It’s all part of a “Big Art” installation at Liberty Science Center by Argentine conceptual artist Leandro Erlich and Brooklyn-based artist and Pioneer Works founder Dustin Yellin which gives the impression of people falling, while they are actually lying on the ground.

Apotheke NoMad is launching Apotheke Academy sessions in April and May. Skilled bartenders and mixologists will lead a unique two-hour session, which includes a hands-on demonstration of four cocktails made with top-shelf liquor. There’s also an after-work Academy on a different Monday each month. Tickets are $200 per person.

The Wesley is hosting a whiskey tasting. On Wednesday 4/19, Louisville-based Barrell Craft Spirits will be offering complimentary tastings of their Seagrass Whisky with “grassy oceanside notes,“ along with a few other whiskeys. The event takes place from 5-7:30 pm in the bar area, with reservations available via Resy.

Mercado Little Spain has a line-up of spring events. On April 18th, it is the Muga Wine Dinner at Leña. Juan Muga of Muga Winery, one of the most traditional wineries of Rioja, Spain, will host an intimate dinner at Leña ($150/pp). Food pairings created by Little Spain Chef Nicolas Lopez will also be offered. Tickets here. Then, on April 29th, it is La Noche Del Pescaito celebrating the spirit of Andalucía with a 6-course tasting menu with wine pairings ($200/pp). Guests can enjoy live Flamenco dancers by the plaza and take home traditional Feria hand fans. Tickets here.

La Pulperia in Hell’s Kitchen is introducing the Octopus Hot Dog with tentacles and all. The dish from Executive Chef Miguel Molina, known for his innovative South American cuisine, consists of bacon-wrapped octopus, kewpie mayo coleslaw, served with homemade chips, and a hot dog brioche bun. The dish is priced at $27 a plate.
