The acclaimed Le Crocodile team brings you Bar Blondeau at the Wythe Hotel in Williamsburg. The French-style bar offers unobstructed waterfront views of Manhattan. Chef partners Aidan O’Neal and Jake Leiber (Le Crocodile, Chez Ma Tante) and restaurateur Jon Neidich of Golden Age Hospitality (Le Crocodile, Acme & others) are the driving forces behind the venture. The seafood-forward menu with its French, Spanish and Portuguese influences complements an international selection of natural wines from up-and-coming wine regions.
The menu includes bar bites such as Oysters with apples and ginger, Salmon Rillettes with creme fraiche, Lobster Salad with basil and potato, Saffron Rice with duck and escargot, and Raclette with potatoes and Spanish ham, among others.
Cocktails, which are sleekly presented with a twist, include Martini Blond with Amalfi Coast gin, cucumber botanical vodka, amber vermouth, lemon oil, and a house-pickled onion. Frozen beverages include L’Orange, with orange wine, Lillet blanc, Swedish-style aquavit and orange oil. Non-alcoholic drinks are also available.
Designed by the award-winning design and architectural studio bonetti/kozerski (Sant Ambroeus, The West Hollywood EDITION), the space features soft natural oak walls, built-in banquettes and custom, gold-accented ambient lighting.
The 70-seat space is centered by a sea green-tiled, marble top bar, positioned along a floor-to-ceiling wall of windows that overlooks the East River and Manhattan’s iconic skyline. There’s also outdoor seating among lush green planters.
Bar Blondeau is located at 80 Wythe Avenue, Brooklyn, NY. For more information, visit barblondeau.com
