Black Seed Bagels has officially opened its 9th shop in NYC, located at 252 Schermerhorn Street in Boerum Hill (at Bond Street). The shop is connected to the Ace Hotel Brooklyn and will operate daily from 7am to 3pm. There is seating for 17 as three eat-in counters along with a dedicated merchandise area. There is also an entrance from the Ace Hotel lobby.
The new space was designed by Rebecca Cohen-Scharfman and includes warm walnut wood elements, white subway tile, ribbed glass, custom shelves and fixtures, including pendant lamps and sconces.
And, of course there are Black Seeds’ Montreal-style bagels made with ingredients sourced from local producers when possible, including Cage-free eggs from the Hudson Valley, cream cheese from Ben’s in upstate NY, milk from Battenkill Valley Creamery, New York State honey, and smoked salmon specially made for Black Seed by Catsmo Smokehouse.
