Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer is getting a pastrami-powered upgrade this May thanks to a bold new collab with NYC legend Carnegie Deli. Just in time for National Burger Month—and rooftop season—the two culinary icons are teaming up to deliver a menu that fuses Black Tap’s burger swagger with Carnegie’s old-school deli classics.

The limited-time lineup is available throughout May at Black Tap’s SoHo and Midtown locations, where diners can dig into items like the Pastrami Burger—a Black Angus patty stacked with sizzling Carnegie pastrami, Swiss, sour pickles, and spicy mustard aioli on a Martin’s Potato Bun. There’s also the Pastrami Hot Pocket, a crispy, golden throwback stuffed with pastrami and gooey cheese, and the Pastrami Fries, loaded with all the deli fixings.

And then there’s the Pickle Shake—yes, really. It’s a sweet-salty vanilla ice cream shake infused with Carnegie’s signature pickle brine (including seeds and seasoning), finished with a drizzle of hot honey and a crunchy fried pickle (frickle) garnish. It’s weird. It’s wonderful. It’s very New York.

"Collaborating with Carnegie Deli was a fantastic chance to push creative boundaries,” said Black Tap co-founder and CEO Julie Mulligan. Working with Carnegie Deli gave us the chance to reimagine iconic flavors in a completely new way.

Carnegie Deli CEO Sarri Harper calls the partnership a way to bring the deli’s legacy to a new generation, adding, "We're eager for everyone to experience it."

With Black Tap’s global rep for award-winning burgers and CrazyShake® milkshakes—and Carnegie Deli’s decades-long status as pastrami royalty—it’s a collaboration that feels both unexpected and inevitable. It’s not just a burger collab. It’s a full-on New York mash-up.
