The Broadway blockbuster “Wicked,” now in its 21st year at the Gershwin Theatre, will welcome Lencia Kebede as Elphaba and Allie Trimm as Glinda. Mary Kate Morrisey (Elphaba) and Alexandra Socha (Glinda) will play their final performances on Sunday, March 2.

Kebede is the first Black actress to assume the role of Elphaba full time in the Broadway company. Her previous theater credits include “Hamilton” and “Rent.” Trimm, a previous standby for Glinda, has appeared on Broadway in “13: The Musical” and “Bye Bye Birdie.”

The film version of “Wicked,” which was released in November, has received 10 Oscar nominations, including Best Picture; Best Actress for Tony Award winner Cynthia Erivo; Best Supporting Actress for Ariana Grande (who co-starred with Trimm in “13”) and composer Stephen Schwartz for Best Score.
