Guests at Eataly Flatiron were treated to an indulgent summer aperitivo spotlighting one of Italy’s most prized cured meats—Prosciutto di Carpegna PDO. Imported to the U.S. by Fratelli Beretta USA, the 20-month aged prosciutto hails exclusively from Italy’s Le Marche region, where it’s made using a centuries-old method dating back to the Middle Ages. The rich, nutty flavor and melt-in-your-mouth texture of this PDO-certified delicacy made it the star of the evening.

The event featured an open-format tasting with Prosciutto di Carpegna served freshly carved and expertly folded into handmade pastas, paired with Italian cheeses, wine, and selections from the Spritz Bar. It was all part of Fratelli Beretta’s ongoing mission to raise awareness of this standout product in the U.S. market.

“We're celebrating the famous Prosciutto di Carpegna,” said Simone Bocchini of Fratelli Beretta USA. “This product came to the U.S. five years ago—now we're trying to make it more famous.”

Fratelli Beretta’s story stretches back to 1812, when the company began as a small local meat processing shop—around the time Napoleon Bonaparte reigned in Europe. Today, it stands as Italy’s longest-running family-owned charcuterie company, surviving two world wars and the Great Depression, all while remaining rooted in tradition and committed to quality.

Bocchini says the distribution agreement with Eataly means more New Yorkers and Americans will be able to enjoy this truly unique prosciutto.
