Friday June 19th will mark the reopening of Celestine (1 John St), an Eastern Mediterranean restaurant with stunning waterfront views. For now, wine and pantry goods will be offered along with a California-inspired burger and cocktail stand called "Bad Trip" on its patio facing the East River.

Celestine's restaurant will serve as a walk-in shop Thursday through Sunday from 12pm to 8pm. Pantry goods including farm fresh eggs, coffee, flour, fresh seasonal produce, honey, and more will be offered along with prepared foods like mezzes, salads, roast chicken, lamb kebabs, and branzino. Prepared dinners for 2 and 4 (with mezzes, entrees and sides) along with wine can be pre-orderable day-of via Tock.

At Bad Trip, the trippy burger stand, visitors can expect smash burgers (with vegan patty options), fries, frozen drinks, beer, wine, good tunes and lots of sunshine. Bad Trip will be run by beverage director Chad Dutkowski (formerly of Happy Cooking, Extra Fancy and Grand Army) and chef Joey Malim (recently of Momofuku and Chez Ma Tante). They’ll be paying homage to their food and drink experiences while growing up in California.

In honor of Juneteenth and the team’s commitment to supporting Black Lives Matter, 100% of the opening day's proceeds will be donated equally between BLM and Know Your Rights Camp.

In the coming weeks, Celestine will also launch an ice cream cart with Oddfellows, located on the park path in front of the restaurant patio.
