Chikarashi Isso is reopening after being closed for more than a year by the pandemic. Located in New York City’s Financial District, the restaurant is serving seasonal Japanese cuisine in a stylish setting. Chef Hideaki Kobayashi, who came to the U.S. from Tokyo, is featuring an assortment of hot and cold small plates and appetizers, sashimi, and donburi – as well as specialties such as tempura and sukiyaki.

Menu items includes Shabu Shabu with broth, wagyu, tofu, ponzu, enoki, shungiku, and shiitake; Uni & Washu Tataki with garlic, sweet soy sauce, and ginger; Seasonal Tempura with chef’s selection of shrimp, scallop, and seasonal vegetables; and Tuna Trio with a selection of tuna (akami, chutoro, otoro).

On the beverage front, look for a carefully curated wine and sake list, and signature cocktails such as Kissu (Roku gin, hibiscus, yuzu, egg white, and bitters) and the FiDi (Legent bourbon, cherry, barley shochu, vermouth, amaro), as well as Japanese whiskey highballs on tap. The restaurant can seat up to 30 guests in the main dining room and an additional 10 guests at the counter.

Chikarashi Isso is located at 38 Rector St, New York, NY (646) 596 8298

(Opening Date Sept 27th)
