Danny Meyer looks to the future after COVID-19

Let's just say for Danny Meyer, the head of Union Square Hospitality, it's been a rough day. In a heartfelt video message to employees, Meyer announced layoffs at restaurants like Union Square Cafe, Blue Smoke, Cedric's at the Shed, Daily Provisions, among others. Meyer says the cuts are needed to ensure the company's survival. Meyer saying, "If Union Square Hospitality does not take serious means by which to survive with nearly no revenues, we cannot possibly be the employer that we want to be." Meyer also announced that the company is setting up an Employee Relief Fund to support team members affected by this crisis. Stay tuned.
