Visitors to Grand Central Station who have passed by Vanderbilt Hall’s ultra-spacious restaurant, Grand Brasserie, may not realize there is a jewel-like room discretely hidden towards the back.

The Green Room, designed by David Rockwell and the Rockwell Group, is a luxurious space perfect for any meal, as well as for private parties. (It can seat 80 people or 100 standing attendees). It features luscious red leather banquettes, vintage photographs on the wall, and a huge circular bar with enormous displays of various liquors nearby.

As in the main room, diners in the Green Room can order daily brunch menu, daily prix fixe menu (available from 5:30am to 3pm), a three-course pre-theater, prix-fixe menu, and a dinner à la carte menu, all created by Executive Chef Guillaume Thivet, who was most recently executive chef at Veronika at Fotografiska.

Highlights of the restaurant’s menu include a cinnamon-tinged onion soup, pate en croute, trout almondine, steak frites, lobster roll and a dark chocolate mousse, among dozens of delicacies.
