A Mexico City–inspired cocktail bar and cantina is bringing bold flavors and neighborhood warmth to Bed-Stuy. Dolores, the newest concept from the husband-and-wife duo behind Winona’s, officially opens July 2 at 397 Tompkins Avenue. The space offers a mix of nostalgic dishes, agave-forward cocktails, and shareable snacks—all rooted in co-founder Emir Dupeyron’s Mexico City upbringing. Beverage director Leanne Favre, of Clover Club and Leyenda fame, leads the drinks program with a smart and playful lineup that balances tradition and innovation.

The menu features cantina-style “botana” snacks like Tlacoyo de Haba (stuffed corn tortillas with fava bean puree and nopal salad), Pressed Seafood Aguachile, and Chicharrones Fritos (fried pork belly). Tacos nod to classic spots in Mexico City, including a Cochinita Pibil inspired by Polanco’s Taquería El Turix and a tender Lengua “El Bosque” wrapped in cloth napkins to lock in moisture.

Daily specials range from Mojarra Frita (whole fried snapper) to Albondigas al Chipotle (chipotle meatballs), with $2 late-night Tacos de Canasta on Friday and Saturday.

Cocktails are deeply rooted in cantina culture but remixed for a modern palate: a sumac-spiked Paloma, the Mata Dolores frozen Painkiller riff, and the savory One Trick Pony with tomato, guajillo, and strawberry served alongside a tiny Modelito. The 30-seat space channels vintage cantina design, with hand-carved game tables, cantera tiled floors, and a bold jade-green bathroom you’ll probably want to photograph.

Dolores is walk-in only and open nightly from 4pm—offering Brooklyn a transportive taste of Mexico City, no plane ticket required.
