Movie goers rejoice! The Brooklyn and Queens Drive-ins are back, open to attendees in closed cars in keeping with necessary safety measures. The Rooftop Films Summer Series presented by SundanceTV, which continues through October, will present events and sneak preview screenings of new independent and foreign films reflecting the diverse communities of Brooklyn and Queens; classics like a special presentation of 2001: A Space Odyssey and free programs including new and classic family films.
Tickets are on sale for Brooklyn Drive-In on the Rooftop Films website, with sales for the Queens Drive-In coming soon. Tickets start at $35 per car (up to 4 passengers) with discounts for members of partner organizations. Doors open at 7:30 PM with events starting at 8:30 PM. Brooklyn Drive-In is on the pier of The Brooklyn Army Terminal, entrance at 80 58th St.
Queens Drive-In is on the grounds of the New York Hall of Science in Flushing Meadows Corona Park,
Rooftop Films is partnering with Museum of the Moving Image, the New York Hall of Science, and the New York City Economic Development Corporation.
