If you’ve ever doubted tofu’s star power, DubuHaus (6 East 32nd St) is here to change your mind. The just-opened Koreatown spot (from the team behind buzzy KBBQ joint HOWOO next door) is an homage to housemade tofu in all its forms—soft, silky, braised, stewed, and even paired with 8-hour braised pork belly.

On the menu? Seven styles of Soondubu Jjigae (Korean soft tofu stew)—including a seafood-packed version, a perilla seed mushroom medley, and a spicy “army stew” riff loaded with Spam, sausage and kimchi. There’s also Dubu Jorim with gochujang-lacquered pork belly, and Bossam served with thick tofu slabs meant to be wrapped in crispy Napa cabbage with fermented radish and a punchy shrimp sauce.

The tofu, by the way, is made in-house daily from organic, non-GMO soybeans sourced directly from South Korea. The process—soaking, peeling, grinding, and filtering the beans—happens in an open kitchen along the dining room, so you can watch the magic happen while you eat.

The 100-seat space is both sleek and warm, with hanok-inspired woodwork, stone tiles, and a ceiling that nods to traditional tofu molds. Later this spring, DubuHaus will roll out a Korean breakfast menu and a grab-and-go tofu bar for daytime diners. For now, come hungry and early—it’s walk-in only.

DubuHaus is open for dinner from Monday to Thursday from 11:30 AM–9 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 11 AM–9 PM. Limited reservations are available for groups of 7–10 people between 5–6 PM only. For more information, visit dubuhaus.com and follow @dubuhaus.nyc on Instagram.
