A lush new culinary gem has opened in Forest Hills. Tourmaline, the refined dining concept from chef Yvan Lemoine and wife Rebecca Sussman, is a 34-seat destination for elevated French-American cuisine—complete with a tree-shaded garden lounge and seasonal menus that blend tradition with modern artistry.

Chef Lemoine, a Food Network Star finalist and Institut Paul Bocuse graduate, brings fine-dining experience from Lyon and NYC to Tourmaline’s evolving menu. Starters like Eggs in a Nest with eggplant caponata, kataifi and soft qual egg to Celery Root Latkes with smoked salmon mousse and salmon roe. Signature entrées include Duck à la Presse, a French classic served tableside with sour cherries and duck jus, Alaskan Cod en Papillote with corn chowder, Sweet Pea Agnolotti and Lamb Lasagna. Fresh pasta, seafood, and fire-roasted meats highlight the restaurant’s seasonal approach, while a partnership with Murray’s Cheese brings a tableside fromage cart experience with artisanal breads and seasonal jams.

On the sweet side, Pastry Chef Jesse Domenech—formerly of Le Bernardin and Le Coucou—delivers desserts like Raspberry Pavlova with pink pepper ice cream and Peach Kouign-Amann with almond-rose ice cream paired with Intelligentsia coffee.

The beverage list, curated by Wine Director Nicole Muscari (DipWSET, FWS), focuses on French producers from Champagne, Burgundy, and the Loire Valley, alongside standout bottles from New York, Italy, and Portugal. Many selections come from independent organic or biodynamic vineyards, offering guests a chance to discover thoughtful, conversation-starting wines.

With its garden lounge, seasonal tasting events, and a design that blends intimacy with elegance, Tourmaline brings destination dining to the heart of Queens. The restaurant is now open for dinner and special events at 106-17 Metropolitan Avenue in Forest Hills. For more details, visit tourmalinenyc.com.
