New York City restaurants and bars continue to reopen at a fever's pitch. Maybe because they know it's do or die. And the winners keep opening any way they can with inventive ideas for new cocktails to a good old fashioned hot dog or a dinner fit for a king. We stopped by Pastis in the Meatpacking district where one gentlemen said, "It's good to finally see a little life." Dos Caminos, a popular spot for people watching, is offering takeout and delivery from a window facing 14th Street. In Midtown, people were lining up for Papaya Dog. I mean who can resist a hot dog with mustard and sauerkraut or sauteed onions. I was good for two. At Fiaschetteria in the West Village, Lasagna Bolognese was on the menu along with Tuscan Bento Boxes. John Doe Bar & Kitchen is also back offering curbside cocktails along with things like chicken wings, potato skins, and fish & chips, while at Galway Hooker Bar (aka Public House), pub food and spritzers are available. The Clam is offering Cucumber Coolers, Lobster Sliders and Lafrieda burgers. It had a line out front, as did LelaBar next door. We're so glad to see so many business, back in business. It's starting to feel like New York City again!
