Katz’s Deli and Peter Luger Named NYC’s Most Legendary Restaurants

If you live in New York City this may not come as much of a surprise. But Peter Luger Steak House and Katz’s Delicatessen have both been named among the 100 Most Legendary Restaurants from around the world by tasteatlas.com.

Peter Luger, which dates back to 1887 in Williamsburg, is cited for its “carefully selected meat from USDA Prime exclusively, and as a result, it has been rated the top steakhouse in New York and earned a Michelin star.”

Katz’s Delicatessen, a fixture on the Lower East Side, has been operating since 1888. It was recognized for “its old-school vibe, a familiar menu – including the legendary pastrami – and consistently superior quality.

tasteatlas.com cited 44 food critic revues for Katz’s Delicatessen, including Andrew Zimmerman, and 17 reviews for Peter Luger.
