A beloved French icon is getting a Hamptons twist. La Goulue Sur Mer, opening July 2 in Southampton Village, brings the elegance of a Parisian brasserie to the East End—complete with mustard-colored walls, oxblood leather banquettes, and bistro chairs sent straight from Paris. It’s the brainchild of Joseph DeCristofaro and Anthony Punnett, two Southampton lnatives and lifelong friends who grew up dreaming of opening a restaurant in their hometown.

The concept pays homage to the original La Goulue, founded by Jean Denoyer, and named after the famed Moulin Rouge dancer known for indulgence and joie de vivre. Denoyer, who co-founded the original Upper East Side location, has given his blessing to this seaside interpretation, though the restaurant is fully owned and operated by DeCristofaro and Punnett. With experience spanning The Old Stove Pub to Le Colonial in Los Angeles, the duo brings deep hospitality chops and a deep sense of place to this new venture.

At La Goulue Sur Mer, diners can settle into the cozy dining room, sip aperitifs in the lively lounge, or enjoy breezy outdoor seating just steps from the beach. The menu blends timeless French brasserie fare with seasonal East End ingredients—think Steak Frites, Salade d’endives au Roquefort, Confit de Canard, and Loup de Mer Mediterranean, alongside rotating specials highlighting local produce and seafood. A curated beverage list features French and international wines, craft cocktails, and traditional aperitifs designed to pair beautifully with the cuisine.

The design, while classic in inspiration, is unmistakably fresh. Parisian chandeliers, a polished brass bar rail, and vintage details set a sophisticated tone, while live music most nights ensures the space retains a sense of charm and vibrancy. On Fridays and Saturdays, the lounge offers a late-night menu served until 11:00 p.m.—ideal for those lingering over a second glass of wine.
