Chef/Owner John Doherty and Executive Chef Brian Fowler collaborated to create a special brunch meal featuring Braised Short Rib with served roesti potato, watercress, caramelized shallots in a mustard sauce paired with a whisky flight featuring the following spirits from its vast premium whisky collection: Dalmore, Cigar Malt Reserve, Highland, Scotland, Laphroaig 10 Years Old Single Malt, Islay, Scotland; and Michter's Small Batch, Kentucky Straight Bourbon, Kentucky, USA. At Sweetbriar, Chef Bryce Shuman is partnering with Woodford Reserve on a special Father's Day event. Tickets cost $125 per person and include a BBQ dinner, a Woodford Reserve bourbon tasting, cigar rolling, and take-home gifts for dad (Sweetbriar dry rub and Woodford Reserve cocktail kit) – separate pricing is available for just the dinner. The BBQ dinner includes Sweetbriar's Smoked Black Pepper Maple Duroc Ribs, Smoked Brisket, Chili BBQ Chicken Wings, Cornbread, Coleslaw, and Chocolate Whisky Cake. Filé Gumbo Bar, which recently opened in Tribeca, is a unique concept and vision of Executive Chef/Owner Eric McCree. The restaurant is a Cajun-Creole Gumbo Bar. The bar features two gumbo chefs, each operating four steam kettles, featuring customizable gumbo entrees made to order. This Father’s Day, Filé Gumbo Bar honors fathers with a special of a choice of gumbo with a beer and a signature dessert specially priced at $45 for lunch from 11 am – 3 pm and dinner from 4 pm – 10:30 pm.
El Cartel Tapas Bar and Restaurant, a family-owned and operated restaurant rooted in Colombian cuisine and culture which has just opened in Hell’s Kitchen, will be offering an array of specials for Father’s Day from 2 pm – 9 pm, priced from $45 - $50. Options include skirt steak with a seafood sauce, chicken with a passion fruit sauce and striped bass with coconut rice. For dessert, there’s Tres Leches Cake.
Mollusca in the Meatpacking District is offering an elegant seafood-centric meal for dad, including an extensive raw bar and mussels offered with a choice of 35 unique sauces. Mollusca’s interior design matches the glamour of the Meatpacking District as hand-blown glass chandeliers anchor the space in shapes reminiscent of jellyfish. Mollusca will be open on Father’s Day for dinner from 3 pm – 9 pm.
