Magazine Bar - a New Orleans-inspired bar in Greenpoint, Brooklyn (130 Franklin Ave) - is launching a full takeout food menu this weekend, chock full of Big Easy classics.
Created by friend of the bar, chef Jordan Heissenberger (recently of Apollonia and Vinegar Hill House), the menu includes a cochon de lait po boy; a Gulf shrimp roll; vegan red beans and rice; chicken and sausage gumbo; an andouille "dog" topped with pimento cheese; cajun corn on a stick; a mushroom melt; and even the Jazz Fest must-eat Crawfish Monica.
Magazine also offers a full takeout drink menu including bottled cocktails (in 2 or 4 servings) and frozen Hurricanes and French75s served in in "crazy" cups. They have also employed a Social Distancing Chicken to enforce the 6-foot rule for the safety of staff and customers at their takeout window.
