Moore and More: The Stars Light Up NYC

Few stars are as legendary as the late Mary Tyler Moore. On June 4, Doyle Auctions (175 East 87th Street) will offer “The Mary Tyler Moore Collection,” with free public viewings of select items being held from May 30-June 2. The auction showcases over 300 lots of artwork, furnishings, silver, decorative objects and memorabilia from Moore’s various residences. Also available for purchase are two portraits of Moore by Peter Max, two by Everett Raymond Kinstler, and two large-scale sculptures by Italian contemporary artist Mimmo Paladino. There will also be a host of career memorabilia including the wall mounted "M" from Mary Richards' apartment on “The Mary Tyler Moore Show,” an unused ticket to “The Last Show,” the 1977 series finale, and a rare Polaroid by Annie Leibovitz of Mary and former TV costar Dick Van Dyke.

Letters Live,” the globally acclaimed celebration of the power of literary correspondence, will return for a highly anticipated three-night run at The Town Hall on May 31, June 1 and June 2. Each evening is a different program with different celebrities will present an entirely unique and unforgettable lineup of surprise celebrity readers bringing historic, humorous, heartbreaking, and human letters to life on stage. Stars confirmed for the event include Laura Linney, Nathan Lane, Emily Mortimer, Sam Nivola, Bryan Cranston, and Ariana DeBose.

The 92NY (1395 Lexington Avenue) will conclude the 2024-2025 season of Lyrics & Lyricists from May 31-June 2 with “Sing Happy!: The Collaboration of Kander & Ebb,” celebrating the 50-year artistic partnership of the writers of such musicals as “Cabaret” and “Chicago” The pair’s longtime music director David Loud will guide an all-star Broadway cast, including Kate Baldwin, Heidi Blickenstaff, Ivan Hernandez, Adam Kantor, Julia Murney, and Matthew Scott.

Finally, the 2025 Drama Desk Awards, honoring the best of Broadway and Off-Broadway, will be held at 7:30pm on Sunday, June 1 at the NYU Skirball Center, Debra Messing and Tituss Burgess will host the event. Expected guests include dozens of nominees, special award winners and presenters, including Nicole Scherzinger, Audra McDonald, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Darren Criss, Sarah Snook, Jonathan Groff, Sutton Foster, and Andrew Scott.
