“Chicken and Biscuits,”, a new comedy written by Douglas Lyons and directed by Zhailon Levingston, will have its Broadway premiere at Circle in the Square Theatre beginning on Thursday, September 23 with an official opening on Sunday, October 10. The show is set to play a limited engagement through Sunday, January 2, 2022.

In this raucous comedy, The Jenkins family comes together to celebrate the life of their father—hopefully without killing each other! But any hopes for a peaceful reunion ravel when a family secret shows up at the funeral.

The show’s ensemble cast will be led by Tony Award nominee Norm Lewis and Drama Desk Award winner Michael Urie, with additional casting to be announced shortly.

Lewis’ many stage credits include “The Gershwins’ Porgy & Bess,” “Sweeney Todd,” “Once on This Island” and “The Phantom of the Opera.” He is also well known for his recurring role on the TV drama “Scandal.”

Urie’s numerous stage credits include “Torch Song,” “Grand Horizons,” “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,” “The Government Inspector,” and “Buyer and Cellar.” He currently hosts the reality show “Clipped” and is best known for his portrayal of Marc St. James on “Ugly Betty.”

Tickets are currently on sale at www.telecharge.com or by calling 212-239-6200.
