Outdoor dining season has arrived at Peasant, the beloved NoLita restaurant from chef Marc Forgione. Guests can now enjoy the restaurant’s signature wood-fired Italian dishes al fresco along pedestrian-only Elizabeth Street—just steps from the Elizabeth Street Garden. Lined with flower boxes and cobblestones, the stretch feels like an Italian piazza, ideal for summer evenings spent with housemade pastas, rustic meats, and a glass of wine.
The menu celebrates the ancient method of cooking with live fire and smoke, using seasonal ingredients from local farms and purveyors. New this summer is Peasant’s whole animal offering, perfect for communal dining. With more than 20 years of history and a heartfelt revival under Forgione’s direction, Peasant continues to honor tradition—while making room for new memories under the open sky.
